About CMC

CMC Construction is a building company based on Nantucket Island. Founded by owner Ciaran McCloskey, CMC has been providing exceptional quality construction services to Nantucket homeowners and businesses since 2005. 

CMC Construction is an owner operated company with extensive experience building on Nantucket. We provide a full range of contracting services for all aspects of residential construction, including new home construction, home remodeling, additions, renovations and historic restorations.


We have particular expertise in the unique needs of Nantucket's antique homes and the intricacies of the Nantucket building permitting process. We work with our clients from the initial planning stages to determine their unique lifestyle needs and wants, and to incorporate these into the design process. The result is a home that reflects the tastes and personalities of the homeowners, while remaining true to the Nantucket style.

CMC Construction is a member of the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce and the Nantucket Builders Association, and is licensed by Massachusetts as a Home Improvement Contractor. Ciaran McCloskey has been building homes on Nantucket since 2001 and holds a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (Unrestricted). Ciaran is a Board Member of the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce and the Nantucket Builders Association, and has served on the Board of Habitat for Humanity Nantucket.
